Have something to say about growing up—or growing old—gay? Want to educate others about what it means to be transgender or bisexual?

Whether it’s a rave or a rant, Pride Vermont invites you to Talk it out!

Send us two poems about your experiences as a member of the LGBT community. No more than three typed pages per poem. Tell us about: coming out blissful partnerships gay marriage being bullied your other joys and challenges

Four poems will be chosen from each of three categories: high school, college and adult

DEADLINE June 1st

Send submissions including name, address and phone number to poetry@pridevt.com.

Winners will be notified by June 30th.

Winners will be asked to read their work at the Pride Festival on Sept. 22 in Burlington.

Prizes will be jury’s choice and there may be additional reading or publishing opportunities available!

Join us in a queer and sex-positive space for impact play 101, live demonstrations, practice time and helpful pointers as you begin (or continue to explore) your naughty adventures!

The National Coalition for LGBT Health and Rainbow Access Initiative, Inc. Launch “LGBT Health Story” as a part of 2012 LGBT Health Awareness Week
Nationwide event runs March 26-30 and calls on local communities to learn more about LGBT health and to participate in promoting health and well-being for all of their members, including LGBT people

Washington, DC – On Monday, the National Coalition for LGBT Health, Rainbow Access Initiative, Inc. and partners will launch “LGBT Health Story”, found online at lgbthealthstory.wordpress.com

This is a national initiative to collect personal healthcare stories, told in the first-person on video and in-print by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) healthcare consumers.

The goal of the project is to encourage the LGBT community to respond to the following call to action –
Everyone has a healthcare story and we want to hear yours. Need a topic to get you started?

Tell us how federal healthcare reform (the Affordable Care Act) has or how it will impact you?
What are your unmet healthcare needs?
How would you know if your healthcare provider was LGBT culturally competent?

Our Game Night with VGSA is tomorrow! Be sure to check it out. It's a fun mixed crowd and everyone (ages, genders, etc) is welcome! We'll be at RU12? (in the Champlain Mill) starting at 7p, ending around 10pm. Bring a game, bring a snack, bring a friend! (Or just bring your fabulous self!)Be sure to check out the Facebook event!

We're going to Pizza Putt to play laser tag and other games. This was a blast last year so we're giving it another shot! Oh the puns. :)

Other stuff:
Pub Quiz: Pushing to April. Mike, Brandon and Cedric will be meeting with the folks at VGSA as soo as we can pin down a meeting date.

Paintball: We're researching affordable options for a GLAM paintball event.

Over the next 2 weeks we'll need to be thinking about our 2nd quarter budget.
